WHY SHOULD YOUR CHILD TRY-OUT
FOR THE COBRAS?
The Cobra program is
designed to develop your child's skills to their maximum
potential. This is done with dedication from the program/coaches and
with dedication from the players and their parents. Each player has a special
role to play based on their skills and will be counted upon by their teammates.
This atmosphere will foster your child to become responsible to their team and
in other facets of their lives. When your child becomes a Cobra, you and your
child join the Cobra family. Your family will develop new friendships, travel
to fun locations for tournaments, and enjoy the time with your new friends
between games at touraments and at home games.
My son, Scott Leathers has thoroughly enjoyed being a Cobra. He will
be a second year 8U
this year. His skills have improved immensely due to the dedication
from his coaches,
Rick Matteson, Damion Matteson, and Scott's dedication to following
the suggestions
that were given to him by his mentors. It has been a very long year
with alot of hard work and long hours. It is all worth it when I see Scott get
so excited when he scores a goal and when his team wins the game or tournament!
I highly recommend the Cobra
Program.

The Matteson
Christmas party was a great success. Everyone had a wonderful time with their
friends and family.

It's Just a Game!!
It's Just a Game!!
I would like to remind everyone that you are supposed to be having
fun while playing/coaching/watching this great game of
hockey.
In the
last month or so, players/coaches/spectators have crossed the line on the
treatment of other players/refs and my managers.
Examples:
1. Two different coaches have assaulted my refs. In both cases,
their players were involved in altercations. The coaches felt as if the "refs"
caused the fights. This does NOT give anyone the right to touch an official
!!!!
IN ANY SPORT!!!!
Consequence:
These coaches have been band from my rink for 1
year. They have the option to
take an anger management class, and on completion they may come back into the
rink on probation.
2. Multiple
players in the last couple of weeks
have threatened
to beat up my refs.
I
WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS!!!!
Consequence:
These players have
been suspended for 1 game due to their actions.
Everyone is responsible for his/her
actions on and off the rink. If you punch or threaten someone, that is your
fault and no one else's. Remember if you do the crime, you will pay the
price.
There is a 24 hour rule
that my managers will start enforcing. This means if you have a
complaint about a game, you may not address it with any manager for 24 hours.
After you have cooled down, we would be more than happy to address your
complaint. Our refs do make mistakes, but try to remember that they are trying
to do a good job. They have a hard and thankless job, so
please treat them with respect.
Remember that we want everyone to
have a good time!
